TTouch for Ted, grieving for his best friend Charlie, who died a week before this video. When he first joined us as an 8wk old pup, Ted annoyed the hell out of Yogi and worried the two smaller dogs with his attempts at very full on play biting and wrestling. Charlie our wonderful labrador really took to Ted straight off, even though his own health and mobility was compromised. He taught Ted to play more gently, let him cuddle up as they slept and the two quickly became best friends. In Charlie’s last few weeks of life, Ted was by his side as much as possible. Charlie loved to lie out in the sun and Ted would shield him when the other dogs were racing around or just lie down with him. Dogs grieve and it’s important to allow that process. The whole family has to adjust to the change and it can be hard. In this short clip Ted has come to me for some reassurance because he has tried to lie with Yogi, as he used to with Charlie. Yogi just got up and abruptly moved away from him. However, a couple of minutes of gentle, mindful TTouch and my full attention was all Ted seemed to need to recover from the rejection.
