India blocks a bid to club it with historical polluters at the UN Climate Summit. Like-minded developing countries, including China, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Bhutan, should put India back in focus over all of the top 20 emitters of carbon dioxide. According to the PTI report, India talked tough by saying developing countries, including India, want that all top 20 emitters should discuss intense emission cuts and not just the rich nations, which are historically responsible for climate change. In the run-up to COP27, India had also said the mitigation work programme (MWP) could not “change the goal posts” set by the Paris agreement. Watch this report for full information.
