When Joey asked us to meet him at the old coast guard station for his VIP session, I knew we were in for the best senior pictures ever at the Cleveland Foundry. There is a ton of history at the old coastguard station in Cleveland. The day was wicked hot and we had to wait for our lenses to get acclimated so they didn’t fog up. We shot around the sailboats, up in the old tower, and then my favorite part was Joey setting up to sail. The sun was super bright, so I popped on an ND filter and we caught some amazing clips as he raised the sail and headed out. As he pulled back in and we got ready to head out on the motor boat, I mentally prepared myself. I had taken some “anti-sea-barfy” meds at the beginning of the session so I crossed my fingers, put on my vest and hoped I wouldn’t turn green like I usually do. I rode backwards with my feet pushed up against the side to brace myself to capture some amazing shots as Joey drove and warned me every so often as we were about to hit another boats wake. We headed near the lighthouse and then near the East 9th pier. The East 9th pier is one of our favorite locations. It’s even greater when you are shooting from the water. The reel from underneath the ship is one of my all time favorites. It’s not every day we get a clip like that. We returned after getting some senior pictures of Joey by the Rock Hall and I sat on the ground for a few minutes until I felt like the ground wasn’t moving. It was a great day and a fabulous senior session. Thanks a million to Joey, Rusty and the crew for the best senior pictures at the Cleveland Foundry.
